The toy industry creates huge amounts of waste. By one statistic, 8 out of 10 toys manufactured become waste and exacerbate water and air pollution. Many of these are still in good condition when discarded. How can we turn this situation around and promote more sustainable consumption patterns among people?
At Project Enigma, we come up with innovative and disruptive business models in the toy industry that challenge the traditional ownership mindset. By adopting circular practices such as retaining ownership of our products and extending their life, we are able to offer alternative options for consumers to access them at more affordable rates and a much wider range. We also hold in our catalogue meaningful non-mainstream products, namely science curios and mechanical puzzles, with which we endeavour to bring about fundamental change by inspiring people in Singapore and the region to get curious about the world and creatively solve problems.
