Support for Vulnerable Groups

Thought Dojo

Problem Statement

Underprivileged youths from low-income families tend to face limited employment opportunities. This leads to a lower quality of life, and in the long run, perpetuates intergenerational poverty. How can we better empower these youths to make sound career choices and elevate them from the cycle of poverty?

Project Description

Thought Dojo seeks to empower underprivileged upper secondary students from low-income families through self-discovery and career exploration programmes to provide them with greater confidence and awareness in pursuing their goals. We aim to work with FSCs and ComLinks to bring these programmes to the students in each district (E.g. Ang Mo Kio, Punggol). We also intend to work with career guidance mentors and industry experts to guide and enlighten the students on viable career pathways, which would give them a better sense of direction in life and consequently, motivate them to commit to achieving their goals.
