Support for Vulnerable Groups

Project Forget-Me-Not

Problem Statement

One in ten Singaporeans aged 60 and above has dementia – a situation that will only worsen over time. A lack of understanding towards dementia results in many being unprepared when loved ones are diagnosed, impairing their ability to treat them with dignity. Awareness and advance planning can alleviate the situation. How can we prevent such thing from happening?

Project Description

Project Forget-Me-Not (PFMN) aims to raise awareness among the general public about dementia by normalising conversations and making information easily accessible. The team will leverage social media platforms and other captivating events to push the topic of dementia to the forefront of conversations. In doing so, PFMN hopes to instil a basic understanding of dementia and its symptoms, and ultimately cultivate empathy towards people living with dementia (PLWD). Inherent in the team’s mission is imparting the message that PLWD are inherently humans deserving of worth, respect and dignity – an essential step for Singapore to become a truly dementia-inclusive society.
