Every year, Singapore attracts approximately 25,000 foreign immigrants. Despite Singapore's seemingly harmonious racial integration, 2 in 3 Singaporean youths have experienced or witnessed racial discrimmination. While already coping with this racial friction, how might we encourage Singaporeans to be more understanding and welcoming to foreigners to our society?
NotSoForeigners aims to be a channel connecting local Singaporeans with newcomers and foreigners through various forms of media published on the internet. As a public website, NotSoForeigners will provide videos, interviews, stories and podcasts regarding the lives of immigrants in Singapore, with the intention of raising awareness and understanding towards foreigners that we encounter on a daily basis, along with encouraging a positive attitude towards foreigners to make them feel welcome in our country. With internet usage at an all-time high, we can reach out to a larger audience and reach our goals.
