What is the differentiating factor between this and other similar services? Also, how do you ensure that compensation for freelancers is sufficient and sustainable, and that this does not end up becoming a platform for exploiting cheap labour?

Instead of reinventing the wheel and invest time in a new platform, would it be more efficient and productive to build on existing platform? By partnering with existing platform, it would cause additional congestion to the saturated industry but will definately add value to improve!

Would this potentially result in a price war which individuals undercut each other to win job? I would think that there would need to be a differentiating factor incorporated in the platform and minimum fee structure guide.

There are global platforms that is solving this problem? I also feel that looking at Singapore as a market alone is simply too small.

One of the key ways to keep prices competitive would be to ensure the platform fee is low. This can be done by automating most of the processes so little manpower is required to run the platform. You may also consider screening the freelancers you accept on the platform and include examples of their work on the platform so it's easy for those who are browsing. I've browsed a few platforms before and the freelancers offered were really not up to standard so it just felt like a waste of my time. At the end of the day, it's about how you market your platform. It will definitely require a lot of advertising at the start (consider doing giveaways, offering discounts etc.) to gain positive reviews.

I don't have very much information on what you guys have planned exactly, but this brings to mind iTask, which has already been around for a couple of years. what is your unique selling point? other considerations may also include how you want to publicise and promote the platform and how you will encourage freelancers to sign up and be on your platform, how you encourage people to hire from this platform, are there any safety measures in place? what happens if either party doesn't deliver his side of the deal?

How are you going to ensure that there will be enough users to match supply and demand and sustain the use of your platform? What features differentiate you from other platforms in terms of safety and trustworthiness? Will you be able to cater to not-so-tech-savvy people who wish to freelance?

Will there be measures to protect those who contribute to the community from disruptive undercutting price tactics?

Freelancing has always worked on the basis of referrals, because no one is willing to risk it and hire someone who's sketch af. So my feedback would be, to consider letting employers get on this app as well, and submit a non-annonymous testimonial for the freelancers they engage, so that potential employers would feel reassured if they have to hire someone that they are not familiar with. This is unlike the g**b rating system ya, where every sis/bro is now a five star catch. Can we incentivise both employer and freelancer, yet make it such that no one can abuse the system (the way g**b's has evolved) and render it untrustworthy?

Is there a particular segment of services that you’re looking to target? If it’s something that involves in-person contact, e.g. cleaning, packing, how will you address concerns about COVID, and what kind of features do you have in place to address safety and trustworthiness that other platforms don’t have? E.g. If someone is new and doesn’t have any past jobs or reviews on their profile, how will I feel safe hiring them?

I feel the App requires users first and foremost, take for example iTask, there are not many tasks to do/not attractive enough where by the price does not equate to the work. This is the biggest problem that this kind of app has, and incentives to post "quests" should be well thought of and executed.

One feedback I would like to give is that perhaps it will be important to actually do a background check on these freelancers and make sure they are specialised in the area of work they claim to be proficient in and also ensure that they are trustworthy before embedding them into the platform

There are a lot of freelancing platforms already out there so wondering how you might differentiate yourself or what pain points would you address that the other platforms don't? One gap I have observed is that older people do not understand how to use online platforms to find freelancers to help them with their work. I think there are a lot of opportunities if you are able to reach out to this population segment!

I think this is an amazing idea, the user interface looks very clear and straight forward as well. Maybe one thing to implement is probably a policy for the safety of the freelancers. The payment plan is unclear as well. Lastly, I assume that user posting a quest are able to set the price but will the prices be standardize to a certain range? like for eg. packing furniture is around $30-$60 depending on the workload.

I want to comment/feedback on a few item
MOM - flyers distributor & advertisement distribution (Someone who give out flyers
I hope MOM can create a scheme that only allow those without a job /job mid switcher to take on this job .
Grab Rider /delivery rider - To create scheme that i mentioned on flyers distributor that allow those without a job/mid switch to take on this role .
I hope MOM can have tough/strict law for grab riders/DR and safety aspects in transport , mask wearing , i suggest to have Grab security mask wearer role that mean those Grab riders/DR didn't wear a mask can report grab headquarters and Grab should have an email and also be tough on DR on discipline and behaviour and all DRS/Riders should have a course on behaviour & discipline management if not they can't join .
I hope more opportunity can be given freelance , more freelance job as what the others had described and MOM should create more freelance jobs through NTUC .

Good idea! This platform helps consumers make easier choices when selecting services and creates a platform for freelancers to showcase their work easily. I think that the competitive prices would be set by law of the market naturally as the pricing is free for all to see and freelancers can match the prices themselves. This protects the freelancers as there will be less lowballers when consumers can see the transparent pricing of the services.

I am quite curious as to how the platforms can address the concerns of safety and payments. There are current peer-to-peer platforms that offer such “marketplace” for freelance service.

Would be great to also have some companies on board for 'regular' freelance job opportunities, but what are the type of peer to peer services that will be offered besides delivery / data-checking / survey (just some examples)?

As an individual myself, I personally do wish to see more freelance jobs available as it can help to earn a side income as well as to improve my skills. Keep it up!
