There are many companies who do send their employees to serve as mentors in organisations.

Who exactly is the target customer here who has to pay? Surely students shouldn't be expected to shell out for this, it should be a program organised via their school... As for SMEs, what kind of value can you provide to them in order to incentivise them to pay for it?

Who are you looking to get onboard as mentors? I’m unsure about the role that these mentors are supposed to play. Do they help teach the digital skills needed, or do they just provide some very high level guidance? As for SME partners, I’m sure that there are many businesses that would like help with digitalisation. You just need to get the word out to them wherever they tend to get their information.

How exactly are these JC or High School students going to learn the necessary skills to address the particular digital challenges the SMEs face? E.g. If they need to build a new website, or to start social media marketing, are the students going to be trained in that before they attempt to work on a project? They can’t be developing the skills as they go, because the SMEs will be like “huh will they even be effective or not? Better not help if you can’t do it well…”

Finding suitable mentors from network partners, from Linkedin as well as alumni from schools. For the SME sides, definitely have to find a skilled BD representative to acquire them

It should be heavily subsidised by the government to drive interest first

Perhaps by exploring whether there are govt grants which can give incentives to SMEs to take in students, similar to how the SGUnited traineeships are being funded. Perhaps also looking at how polytechnics partner with industry so that student projects under the mentorship of poly lecturers are able to help companies

I want to add on
Ms Denise Phua mentioned in parliament sometime ago that we should keep PWD/SN in specialize school and continue to keep PWD
in school until they find a suitable work/employement , i would ask the team , what do you think of ms denise phua back in parliament .
I would also want to ask the team , Should PWD/SN be Safe distancing ambassador or SDA , i think they should to occupy their time and SDA is a good opportunity for pwd/SN to contribute to convid 19, what is the team idea on convid 19 projects for our special friends ?

I would pay , but i happy that most of DSP are free to PWD/SN under SGE partnership if you look at skill training at SGE and some of PWD/SN trainees/clients/visitor/other have been learning like Zoom, paynow , Tracetogether and QRcode but some elderly are still facing , I would ask the other team as well on the volunteering , how would you help such elderly ? That is your homework and brainstorm .For PUS Students , students and FG , i agree that the youth today are very pessisimic in climate change , leadership which our PM Lee and DPM had described in their manifesto . Youth play a crucial part but a balance is needed and we cannot have too many elderly on work place or FG in the workplace , FG can be a staff member in their own school , i give you an eg of role maybe student FG internship HR leader and HR selection and hiring process or career fresh graduate ambassadors .

I want to challenge the teams on corporates vs SME , 28% or 28.6 % (Survey conducted by YMCA) had PWD/SN in their hiring & Selection process , Can Career connect hire those PWD/SN that are left behind ? That the question the teams have to answer . I think Mentoring is good and Stories of Asia had been advocate on mentoring , SME like each of cup should hire PWD/SN when they seek help or left behind or under MPs help , ITE should have special scheme for those who left behind but graduate , For fresh grads , how would you balance between elderly and youth ? That is another question that the team have to brainstorm .

I think students should not be required to pay for such a program. By working on projects with local enterprises, they are offering their talent, time and perspectives to the company. It should be a win-win situation.

Work with Government agencies such as IMDA and SkillsFuture and tap on their existing digital literacy programs.
