Have your say!
These conversations allow youths like us to come forward and share our views on issues close to our hearts, and this is Our Vision 2025.
Today’s conversation

a country who lets youth speaks out on the things that they feel strongly for. To be a home where people love to come back to after travelling after a long time.

a society where we affirm the dire necessity for freedom of speech and diversity of beliefs; where we take issues of inequality seriously; where we all learn to think critically, ask difficult questions, and practice an inclusive politics.

not governed by authoritarianism.

a justifiable society

democratic

a nation tt welcomes n support the initiatives of the Govt, no matter who is the ruling party

a place where people can be comfortable with expressing themselves with true authentic free speech

a place where political issues are discussed and not avoided.

ruled by a government who listens to its people and actually learn from their mistakes when being warned about it.

A well developed nation where there is equal freedom of speech, expression and welfare.

a country that is free from laws that restrict people from doing things that they can. Freedom.

A place where the government listens to its citizen. (Stop silencing us with GST vouchers and "bicentinnial bonuses")

Free speech

The government is also more willing to listen to citizens and people are likewise active in contributing their own thoughts to both domestic and global affairs

Safe in the sense where there is trust between the people and the government, and the government can have conversations with the voices of the dissent.

Not so restrictive. These days a lot of stupid law n regulations that Dun make senses

we are communicative and transparent in our decision making as a nation. The government provides clear transparent reasons for policy decisions.

We also want the government to hear the voices of people who are trying to make Singapore a better place

Greater participation in policy-making processes - citizen assembly where citizens can give inputs into policies that will be taken into account meaningfully, greater interest and initiative to take part too on our part as citizens.

Fast paced and there is more transparency with government and the citizens.

A more open political discourse, where young people 18 and above can vote, as well as freedom to express views through demonstrations.

Life in 2025 would be like 2015 to 2005. I was still a toddler so I wouldn't know much. However I believe life then would pretty much be the same, yet at the same time not. It would be a time when we will be free to say what we wish freely in public without scrutiny from the government eye, yet be judged secretly from people wary around us. It will be like how it is now!And that sucks. Sadly.

Singapore have freedom of speech, rules are strict but not as suffocating as now.

Freedom of speech has been granted, provided the privacy and beliefs of people are still respected, allowing for the government to be shaped and changed more holistically, as well as their policies.

The government and citizens should work together towards improving Singapore and move on further.

Everyone thinks and reflects about how they can be better people instead of richer. They desire social change instead of wanting to be comfortable and "just lead a normal life", because that is irresponsible. And we can do better. Prosperity has become the new buzzword instead of economic growth. There are more welfare policies in place. Ministers are more educated in social justice issues instead of distinguishing things as just "bread and butter" or "idealistic". Social movement scene returns to its former glory. Freedom of press and media and a backtrack or refinement on the fake news bill, plus an apology or acknowledgement towards choices that have caused a wrongful erasure of freedom (e.g. for Operation Coldstore, for 377A, for forced resettlement into HDBs)

nd also a lot of our novel ideas are being stifled by conservative higher ups. So I would feel that the people worse off are the people who have views and needs that have to be acknowledge but are unable to do so because they are at the bottom of the hierarchy. But I still recognize that Singapore is a good place to live in, however there is room for improvement

for example to allow equilty rights for everyone regardless of their believes, thoughts, to have total freedom of speech. Hopefully Singapore will still be a 1st rate country.

I hope to see a revolutionary change in politics, with a shake up that would push major changes that is greatly needed for a boost as a nation.

Open discussion on 'taboo' topics (e.g. mental health issues) as well as any other topic (freedom of speech). Hopefully all law-abiding citizens will be better off.

a just society.

To have a strong government that takes good care of its people and improved communications on policies.

a country with freedom of speech, more political parties in the goverement, lower cost of living and full of happy Singaporeans.

with an emphasis of trust within its society.

1) I want a total reformation of our Cabinet.
2) Every minister in Singapore is paid too much, ESPECIALLY the prime minister. I want their annual salaries to be reduce by 20 fold. This will make them feel the pain of the common Singaporean.

a real democracy

A country with more political parties in govt

Less oppressive

different. Different government different education system different way of life.

A democracy

A truly free country

a more just society so guys with good grades aren’t allowed to get away with sexual assault

NOT a maximum government

A country with strong leadership

Free

a place with more political parties and freedom of expression

Open to diversity and more open to freedom of expression.

A country that allows all to express their views freely but responsibility

A country with free speech, freedom, confidence and far sighted.

a democracy.

Singapore should be a place where all citizens' needs are catered to. I hope that everybody would be happy and satisfied living in Singapore, having a say in all the policies set by the government on an open platform no matter the background race or age of the citizen.

A future-ready city with modern ideologies and cultural appreciation, and support for the less able while pushing for a more competitive economy.

Life would be more chaotic as the smart nation initiative gets in full swing. However, in the midst of all the chaos, it is important to note that our values of empathy and everything covered during the discussion sessions stay in place.

Singapore will be more hectic, less human interaction, more reliance on technology for basic necessities, communications, work, entertainment and even survivial.

More connected in terms of both local and global context. We bring back the human to human interaction and touch, and manage to strike a balance between technology/robots and human intervention.

3. Technological advancements would continue to strive and many people might not be able to quickly adapt to these advancements. Thus, this means we may not be future-ready enough.

Singapore is a more technologically advanced nation, making it a overall more efficient and a international hub in SEA. Culturally it has stayed the same with tech and globalization not overriding the essence of what makes us Singaporean. The poor are better off due to more opportunities afforded to them from tech education, leveling the play field and reducing income inequality.

In 2025, it seems like life in Singapore will be very complicated because of the new technologies and inventions used and being made. What needs to stay the same is human values something that technology does not have intelligence on.

a lot of Technology integrated into daily lives Worried that corporate companies might just be capturing data. Data security another issue.

I think AI is worst off as it might make us inhuman and we might actually become o me.

I feel that at heart life is generally the same, everyone tries to make a living in this environment and surviving. The things that might change are the mediums or means by which we achieve our goals and make a living, might be thru technology, might be thru global connectivity and remote working/ learning.

and where working individuals can thrive in workplaces despite of rising automation.

There is an advancement in technology and people should adapt to it. We shouldn't be the one working for the robot but we should be the one that creates the robot.

Technology would serve as a tool but not to the extent of Humans being enslaved by it (i.e. we cannot function in our daily living without technology).

I am excited to see the new implementation of technology and the rate of progression that Singapore is advancing. There is sense of optimism and I can see lots of opportunities available.

In 2025, I would love to see Singapore moving towards a nation whereby they used technology to solve current issues which are present now. For example, the issue of food wastage is increasing in Singapore as people nowadays take food for granted. Throwing away food discards large amount of valuable resources. What we can do is to better make use of technology to solve such issues instead of having technology which disrupts fave to face communication between people.

Progress of the country with the development of technology. Openess to this technology, receptiveness and but also balance between personal touch and tech.

I am happy with how life has turned out but concerned about the rapid advancement of technology.

Technology: We are able to leverage on tech to empower us with more choices & opportunities, simultaneously ensuring these gates are opened fairly for all.

Life will be more efficient in terms of technology. Time by time technology is slowly catching up to our needs and mostly it helps in our everyday lives. There will be more automation, flexibility. Maybe less social awareness and interaction with more futuristic plans of the economy and infrastructure. Our system of managing the country would stay the same. I have no idea what will go and stay but as for now it is good. It's quite debatable if life will be better as anything can happen and we only can know if we wen through it.

in 2025, i would want to see singapore technology improve as currently we are focusing a lot on that to catch up on the society and other country. things are slowly changing from paperless to robot serving. right now its nice but once robot take over us, we would be jobless so it scares me

I hope technology do not advances too much because elderly will struggle in their lives in the future

life is dreary and dull because everything is mechanized and automated. face to face social interaction would have dropped due to this and due to the advances in communication technology. blue collar jobs would have been replaced by AI, but the number of STEM jobs would have ballooned. cyber attacks would be common because of advances in hacking technology, which would be especially egregious given that technology would be the cornerstone of society.

I imagine Singapore in 2025 to be a country using full of technology and people are always relying on them. Life would be different if there is technology advancement as people might get dependent on it and not want to learn things on their own. Although it would definitely benefit the companies it might not be good for people

I also want a singapore that is still independent manually while still being able to function in environments that are technologically advanced. this allows us to be more prepared in times where technology fails us, continuing our survival.

In 2025, I envision a Singapore where we are embracing technology way more than how we are today. We'll be using semi-autonomous vehicles as our main mode of transportation. We'll also be more globalised and travelling abroad for vacations/work trips. Unfortunately, I think we'll be spending more time on work and our phones most of our time rather than with the people around us. We'll be more lazy as we rely more on ordering food deliveries rather than getting it ourselves.

Personally, I imagine Singapore to be more tech inclusive, thus making jobs easier for everyone. However, we should also focus more on SMEs and invest more in local businesses as this also helps to provide more job opportunities so that A.I. will not render people jobless.

I imagined Singapore to be a technological advancement country and to be a clean and green country. I am not happy with the way life has turned out, Singaporeans should be more proactive and take on risk to get what the want.

Include everyone to be technology savvy. Leave no one behind. In the future, technology should be benefit not only corporates or company but also individual. Technology should be embrace by everyone. I feel that right now, elder doesn't accept technology in their life and they will be left behind. Hopefully everyone in the future uses technology fully. Policy and law should revolve around new technology as well. Before technology is publish, policy to safe guard citizen is important. Advance in technology must be benefit everyone. From epaymebt or medical advancement, they should be made available.

Technology have advanced to improve our way of living, handling dangerous task and IA that handles monotonous tasks.

Technology is a big part. Communication may lessen. Everyone's life would probably improve with probably the middle class benefiting the most. The rich will definitely have the most resources but we should not be afraid and wary of the future just because some ppl may benefit more from it. We still should embrace the change. Life is good as it is but we should be able to look forward to improvements in the coming 5 years. Perhaps we should all take good care of our eyesight as screens will probably be omnipresent and necessary.

Singapore in 2025 is where Human Resources and technological resources have equal reliance on our work force. We cannot undermine a human capability by using technology. Instead, we help our people to be better through technology, and not allowing them to replace human instead

Artificial Intelligence will be frequent used in Singapore under the medical sector to better assist the patients. Poverty will be reduced slightly, depending on the future regulations that are going to be made. Autonomous vehicles will slowly creep into the lives of Singaporeans. Housing will improve based on the progress made now. Assistive devices will be more used than ever before,(eg. smart watches, trackers etc).

More advance technology in the future which might really benefit singaporeans

People using high-tech and new technology coming up changing our life

Technology is better and Ai is more common and enhances life in many ways.

Singapore will be a place with much more digital technology. Life will be much more hectic as it always is.

It will be difficult however because people sill start getting displaced through the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence and robots. Automation will be much more common and with it a whole new set of problems.

I would imagine that life will be more convienient due to technological advances. Most of the services will be done online eg. Banking through mobile phones, buying daily needs online etc.

i think that in the future, technology will be taking over most of our lifestyles, in which i honestly feel could be a waste and bane to our future lives. However, i still do believe that as youths we should be able to adapt to changes as much as possible.

I imagine for Singapore to be the leader in modern connected technology and digitalisation, with a strong support for the less able to allow them to live at a similar pace to daily citizens.

Life will be more technologically advanced for sure. However, I believe that as we keep up with the world we are also educated on how to make the world a better place for our subsequent generations.

Life of ppl working may be restricted due to innovation of tech such as robots, things that may still stay the same is maybe current issues as it takes some time and sacrifice to change. I am okay with how sg is right now, but could be better

Nowadays there are a lot of technology like cashless what about all the elderly whereby they don't understand all the technology in the 2025. I just hope that some will stay the same.

Honestly speaking, I will imagine us relaying too much on technology. Which will cost many of us either out of job or very rich.

Singapore will be more technologically advanced and have AI

My core area of focus is the status and emphasis of welfare in Singapore. As an economic-driven state, I hope that as Singapore dives into the use of technology and automation, more people can help to mobilise discussions and actions on pertinent social issues,

A technology-driven society that can increase outreach of government and policy makers to the citizens.

self-driving cars.

I think singapore would become a more digitalised society, where communication is not widely seen anymore. I think everyone would be living a better life, in terms of housing and financial stability.

Hope that the bus services can be more convenient HAHAHA

I hope singapore has implement a way to prevent road accident from happening I also hope that singapore is more advanced in the near future

Living cost has gone up over the years. Tax increase will come in due course and middle class will feel a greater squeeze.

Glocal mindset and strong skill sets to do that. To take action rather than say only. To prepare youths of the future and current workers to be future ready.

Singapore may be progressing but there are countries that are progressing faster hence there is a risk of talent loss too.

Overall, Singapore will continue to sustain and achieve progress due to good governance. While chasing for the economic progress, do remember there will always be people that fall through the crack.

My two key concerns relate to what I feel is survival. 1. Economic performance. Doesn't have to occur at a mind blowing rate, but definitely no recession. I'm wondering if we can grow as one ASEAN and tap into each others' resources

In the economy, there will be a greater division between labour from the old and young generation due to their familiarity with technology. Life could be better for some of us, especially those with creative pursuits, as the economy would not be able to accept everyone who want a a standard career path in current industries.

Singapore in 2025 will be even more unpredictable. Economy will be slow for Singapore as we reach our maturity and limit. Common citizens will find Singapore harder to live in.

Singapore can be more innovative and open in arts, illnesses , business plans and many more. Since now especially in R&D the Singapore government, A* star and many other are overlooking every project.thus Singapore do not have many self initiated projects although many singaporean have a lot of ideas.

However, if we as Singaporeans, stand together, 2025 will be a peaceful year for Singapore and a very prosperous one as well.

I imagine a kanchiong Singapore. We fall behind on global shifts in politics

Also i imagined singapore would have largly expanded its aviation industry.

A city the world will model after. Physically integrate jobs to housing, housing into city center. Concentrate traffic(car cycle ebike pedestrian drones) into fewer corridors. So they can be separated to different level to increase speed, comfort. So cost of transport, biz r reduced to attract MICE, education to be here.

However, if we as Singaporeans, stand together, 2025 will be a peaceful year for Singapore and a very prosperous one as well.

a better place

A better place

A better place

A better place

A better place for its citizens

A country that everyone wants to visit

a country that promotes harmony, a stronger economic culture and a peaceful, safer place to live in.

a country where the whole world wants to go to.

a city that have lots of renewable enegry , colder weather ,trash free city. With a living cost that everyone can deal with. More local creations of our own to share with the world.

a country where people speaking up and making an opinion becomes the norm

People are open to talking about their views in a civil manner and society is more inclusive and less divided.

Singapore to be more empathetic, civic-conscious and self-aware. To be more willing to give up conveniences for the greater good and be wary of how our actions will impact others. To increase scope of actions beyond economic/tangible goals (e.g. mental health, environment, inequality).

free of mental shackles idealising a particular mould of thinking, acting, being, doing and living; a society of critical thinkers--not noisy critics and silent thinkers--willing to see past facades to confront issues, right wrongs and serve justice.

A civic society with self-agency, responsibility, maturity and intellectual discourse, one which asks not what the country can do for them but what they can do for their country, galvanised and united in a shared zeal and purpose to co-create.

a first world country with empathetic and involved citizens who are willing to play an active role in nation building.

A more intelligent, critical society, a place where narratives are not left unchallenged by the most of us

giving controversial ideas an opportunity

Free of online vigilantism

A country with individuals who appreciate the country, understand its laws and policies well enough and be active in making change through their actions.

More aware of the geopolitical issues surrounding the complex world that we are in.

A place where youth are able to make a difference

To be more open public talk

But while many things have advanced, people still generally wait for the government to resolve problems. And when that happens, they shirk away from being a part of the solution and becomes cynical. We need to extend public participation to the ordinary man on the street, not just to activists and volunteers who have stepped forward.

I'd like to see youths play a more active role in politics - we are the future of the nation and the government should involve us in the decision making processes. I envision life to be easier with the advent of technology, but perhaps in pursuit of this we have inadvertently neglected some communities.

that allows community involvement in policy making that affects their life

More Opportunities for society to share their thoughts to improve life in Singapore.

A common platform for discourse on national matters would also be ideal. Some Members of society trying to partake in the discussion find it difficult to due to the lack of prior information. Several arguments also are repeated and impactful and convincing arguments aren't heard.

At the same time, we also have to have courage to effect personal and community change which will lead to societal change. A Humane society where people are Universal Social Workers that are able to help one another each with their strengths and complement one another in their weaknesses.

Open, liberal and less conservative.

Self, Others & Around: Being responsible & accountable for yourself (independent, authentic), the community (volunteerism)

Increased openness to challenge difficult emotions that arise from difficult conversations, so as to synthesise different stakeholders' interests/ values and create meaningful change, rather than "settling with" the mindset of "agreeing to disagree" (which possibly breeds tolerance and acceptance, but not true inclusivity and compassion)

Singaporeans are more politically engaged, able to organise on their own, create meaningful change. Society is more equal, or people are at least more aware of their own privilege and try to redistribute it.

Making engagement part of the policy lifecycle in an active manner

Beyond the community-level, laws and structures are designed to promote civic engagement: most people are politically and socially engaged in meaningful ways.

Alternatively, apathy is rampant because of the lack of opportunities for real civic engagement (ie because of repression).

Singapore 2025 should also be one that is sustainable, where citizens take ground up efforts to care for the society. I'm happy with how life is so far but much more can be but more can be done to make Singapore the dream version of itself.

In 2025, the youth of Singapore can take a more central role in bringing Singapore together. We want to see less of top-down, bureaucratic policies and decision-making and make space for more ground-up initiatives. Youths are empowered to not just take action, but given grace to make mistakes, to learn and to grow.

I hope that youths would be more aware of world affairs happening around them, and that they would take active steps towards building a Singapore that resonates with their vision and mission.

Active citizen interest groups working with goverment policies to drive change and policies with the aim of making Singaporeans lives better

What I hope to see in Singapore is that people being more socially responsible and more self ware, more altruistic and willing to volunteer their time in ground-up initiatives to solve problems of our time so as to have a better future because we cannot rely on anyone else to solve our own problems

In 2025, I envision a Singapore where people are not afraid to voice out and speak on the issues which affect them or their loved ones. Every member of society feels included and is aware of all available support structures. More Singaporeans feeling strongly about remaining and contributing to Singapore. We are healthier, embracing diversity, fertile, and xenophobia-free. We take ownership of our country, our community, our neighbours, and ourselves.

Youths realise that they are privileged and this privilege should not be taken for granted. No one is entitled to anything.

Young-people oriented

More aware of national and international issues and get the general public more involved

Having more open conversations about various social issues (eg. social inequality) and taking actions on it

Open to new ideas and innovation that will better help our community

Outspoken country!

socially aware

A nation with a free mind but utilizes it when there's a need. And never ever lose or lower it's worth. Let's stil excessive thinking.

Giving more free frozen yogurts without we codes

More aware

filled with individuals who ain’t afraid to voice their opinions and have a vested interest in building and sustaining this nation together.

More capable of critical thinking.

We need to have inspiring leaders to guide Singapore society towards it

More quality opposition candidates

Good leaders, good policies, a supportive nation moving together towards a common goal.

Lose democracy

Less sensational media reporting, more in depth discussions of multiple perspectives within a single article. Educational institutions should train critical thinking on current affairs, encourage civil debate

Strong institutionalised education and advocacy. Governments need to set in strict guidelines and procedures that corporations and individuals have to follow. We can't afford to give people the choice anymore.

to stop being self-entitled
to focus on what we need to do rather than voicing our opinions

Create more conversations and discussions on various issues

Increase public awareness

Let the youth take charge. Ask for their opinions. Not just the things you wanna hear but things that needed to be said but not heard.

Be open and critical, not just the government, but also it’s citizens.

Government reforms/Revision of the Penal Code

Allow for open forums, discussions. Remove the law that bans gatherings of people.

Elect open-minded ministers to form secular government that isn't influenced by religious groups

We need to reform the way we approach dissent and understand truth. Truth is often-times interpretative and policymakers should NOT hold a monopoly over truth and information.

have a true Singapore conversation about our national narratives and values.

Choose leaders who are actually connected to the people and their issues

platforms for citizens to talk openly about their differences

Better communications, get down from ivory tower - be genuine and sincere.

I think we have to be more candid and intentional with the conversations with have. It is important to not shoot others’ opinions down too quickly and listen to what they have to say. Understanding and empathy goes a long way.

An open government

Simple, more feedback sessions and open up more channel of comms at every level of society

Good policy, planning and most impt Efforts

Strong political will and commitment from political leadership

We need sensitive, sensible leaders with more connectivity to the ground.

We need to have a strong leadership in our govt. A leadership that will speak up assertively in the face of threats from big countries.

Proper planning and there should be a good governing body to regulate the plans

conversations about issues, not simply ignoring and pretending they don't exist. media censoring is the worse. do not take away people voices.

Change in thinking and govt policies

Ask the government..... Idk

I feel need to be more open with opinions

Strong, capable leaders

change government

have more progressive discussion, firesides! For institutions/ important bodies review your status, your contribution and see if we are truly moving towards betterment of the world, involve people and not just “perfect people, perfect answers”

For the government to kick off with actions. Impose laws

By not just talking but taking action

Ask the president to stop hiding things from us :3

Maybe we can use social media platforms to bring people together since they are always online debating and having disagreement

We need to start from families, schools and communities. More open discussions and revealing of our true selves more openly.

Employers understanding what millennials really want instead of trying to fit in the mould that is outdated.

Greater awareness that can capture youth's attention on political issues around the world

a country where people speaking up and making an opinion becomes the norm, and a country that cherishes the environment by significantly cutting down on disposables and food waste

Able to decrease the retirement age. I also hope that the cost of living in Singapore reduces and that we find a better way to support the economy than just maritime and tourism which are highly dependent on other countries.

Maybe universal basic income can be considered

People no longer live in a perennial state of mental anxiety, where often the only concern is money or how much we achieve for ourselves personally.

My personal research suggests that universal basic income would be one of the best strategies to achieve this for Singaporeans — with each dollar being tagged in a blockchain wallet to be specifically for "food, transport, electricity bills, rent", etc. Any money you generate personally outside of the government provided money would be yours to use as you please. Singapore continues to be competitive technologically and economically not in spite of this support but because of it — mental security that the UBI provides creates new markets and opportunities ranging from having more leisure time to consume each other's artworks, empathizing with each other's experiences, and pursue innovation and entrepreneurship experiences BECAUSE they want to, and not stay in jobs or drive cars just because they have to. (But who will do the low-end jobs? Hm.)

What I'm afraid will happen: Cost of living keeps rising while our salaries can't keep up with it

Our salaries increase with respect to cost of living if it does increase

Cost of living is high but manageable

I think life has gotten more stressful. Increasing costs fuels more stress amongst youths and working adults,

There would be income equality and a higher standard but not cost of living

Cost of living in Singapore remains affordable to all. People live within their means and not pressured to conform to society or society's version of success.

I wish the daily expenses of Singapore can be lower down in 2025.

In Singapore, life is not easy due to the every changing times. For example, changes in the cost of living, job employment etc. Most of the middle income and Low income families are suffering based on this issues. I would want Singapore to really look into the problems that netizens are facing.

More relaxed, we don't have to keep thinking about the price of things going up

I don't think I will be happier off because things are going to be expensive, standard of living will increase and I am not sure if my wages will increase. It depends on our economy

It'll be extremely crowded. Extremely expensive and tired very tired #karen #pauline

It'll be extremely crowded. Extremely expensive and tiring

a country that is suitable to retire at.

a city that have lots of renewable enegry , colder weather ,trash free city. With a living cost that everyone can deal with. More local creations of our own to share with the world.

more entrepreneurial

Rich so that I have a job

To be a land of opportunity for everyone in the Technology and Science Sectors. Employment for all.

able to hire people based by their work experiences and skills instead of seeing a piece of paper. As not all people know how to apply what they learn on book to the real world/society.

A generation of youths who also look towards Southeast Asia not just as a travel destination but a place to work, love, live and grow.

More open about the diversity of career opportunities, lifestyle.

in smooth transition to Ind 4.0 with minimal displacement of jobs. Allow workers to retrain (work related schemes or subsidies), exposure on what to expect (to set expectations of urgency) & psychological encouragement (never too old to adapt

a country where there are opportunities for career switches even when you are older without losing out too much financially, and not be placed in a career, unable to switch due to the huge financial cost, because of inadequate results at A levels.

A highly skilled local workforce.

The best country in the whole world with lots of job opportunities and everything ine ever wishes .

Able to continue attract investments, improve economy, share wealth with her citizens and create jobs for Singaporeans from all walks of life.

A place where the pioneers generation can get a better salary jobs using with their skills despite not much education background.

The country of opportunities for all as a society and everyone to have the kampung spirit once again

I want Singapore to be less stressful and more relaxed like other countries that only has maybe 5.5 working days etc .

A country with no unemployment with a healthy economy

Be a place that have alot jobs opportunity for all citizens

Prospering with many jobs and affordable

Jobless to 0%

A better ace to fi nd job

Good government foresight in planning in future investments to promote job creation

More people lose jobs if machines take over

Also, the society to measure success in multiple ways that evaluates the person based on his/her talents and recognising the dignity of work, that all work are equal and that no one should be looked down upon for holding one role or another e.g. cleaner/road sweeper. In this whole sense, it seems that having a strengths based perspective will help in our commonality while embracing diversity.

In the pursuit of smart nation, we need to find the middle ground to ensure job sustainability

Adaptable workforce,

Jobs are more flexible and I can work from home. I can have multiple income streams through investments.

We have opportunities in and out of Singapore and have the options to choose

I think it will be more tecnological and more millennials are able to get jobs. More jobs are being implemented.

and a place where entrpreuneurship is welcomed.

I imagine Singapore to be a more opportunity-giving community and a country where dreams can be achieved. The music and art industries would be booming and many great innovations and achievements would be created by Singapore youth.

2205 is 6 years from now. I honestly wouldn't expect a ton of societal progress or policies being enacted in such a short span of time. I however, would love to see some hint of progress being made by the 6 year mark. A sign that things are turning towards our favour. Given that I am a startup owner, I would only hope that my social enterprise would by this point of time be financially stable and executing all of out duties effeciently. I would love to see my dream of a utopia fot everyone being realised in 2025. That's all I can ask for

with globalisation and innovation, new jobs that are sustainable for the future can be created to support the people who may be affected from structural unemployment

To be world ready, work ready and life ready such a way that views are to be proposed and not imposed

Life is hard i have no job ill be enlisting for ns and most probably gonna sign on

OPen to new skills, advanced technology

Encourage workers upgrade themselves for better future and better wages.

Through educating employers and unions to have that mindset shift.

Employers understanding what millennials really want instead of trying to fit in the mould that is outdated.

As I mentioned earlier, look at their past work experiences and skills.

A better ace to fi nd job

A country where young Singaporeans from all walks of life can find decent work, fair wages, and honourable livelihoods. A nation that manages its resources sustainably and can guarantee an environment for future generations.

A secular pluralistic society, where people are fully enabled to pursue their dreams, in a conducive environment, to achieve success for themselves and for their families and the society, regardless of race, language, religion, gender, and sexuality.

Singapore to embrace diversity of identities, values, and careers.

An open and inclusive society that maximises the potential of each an every person on an individual level. Define success based on the individual, their aspirations and passion. Respect for each individual's opinions and views.

Life in 2025 would be where everyone is freely able to be, as well as become, whoever they aspire to be. It would be a place where there is no judgement but curiosity for one another and where everyone supports each other to achieve their dreams.

I hope for Singapore to become a place where we're not only a mixing pot of races and cultures, but views, dreams and professions. It's hard to change the people of now, everyone has different motivations, but that's not what I want to force change on.

Ideally, i hope for singapore to be a country where we do not use labels to define things; be it in terms of jobs or types of students. Doing so will allow each and everyone one of us to feel comfortable with what we are doing as we know that there is no judgement between one another.

putting less emphasis on academic results and grades so as to not put so much pressure on students, which often lead to exam stress and anxiety

Inclusive society, where grades are not everything. Please provide platforms for the younger generations to experience and realise their aspirstions and passiln since young. Furthermore, i hope this island can be more pet friendly, hawker allow pets

A country that gives equal opportunities in education to students from financially capable family and those who are incapable. A country that actively integrates madrasah students and supports them financially and socially. (eg edusave)

A place where there's opportunities for all to succeed and grades do not define everything.

More open to fresh graduates with degrees other than from the top 3 universities in Singapore

To not discriminate between graduates from local U and private U. Both should get the same pay range. Students who choose private U often do not have a chance to attend local U. But why this pay difference? What message does this bring about?

a place that does not discriminate or categorize people based on educational achievement but passion and talent.

A place where graduates will not be scrutinized based on what university they graduate from, but how to adapt to the real world.

Nicer to academically incline students give them a second chance to studies by helping them come up with programmes that help them improve their learning.

a more democratic country rewarding citizens based on both academic results and talents.

A good and conductive place to learn and live in, such as society would be much better and safer for me to live in the future

A place where students can relax under lesser stress and lesser competition and there’s no such thing as a better sch

Inclusive and fair. A much fairer rewarding system in education, reward students for their non-academic achievements. Pay close attention to students from Low-SE families. Give more importance to Singaporeans and not foreigners when giving schlorship

Less emphasis on grades

An education system that is inclusive for all (with enough manpower to meet demand). More vocational options for youths who drop out of school

In addition, the emphasis on education should be reduced so as to not apply too much pressure on the students. The removal of examinations is only on the surface. We should look into the curriculum and content.

A system for Singapore where student get to learn anywhere at anytime with ease,

Meanwhile, we must maintain the positive competitive mentality to push one another to achieve greater heights and not just settle and where we are comfortable. Singapore in 2025 is where everyone can be successful through their strengths, and not just the very conventional way of getting straight A's. This is who and what our nation needs - people of leadership, people of compassion. They are who we are lacking and there should be more opportunities to expose them to the public not to shame them, but to encourage others to follow their footsteps

I also would like Singapore to not determine the youth's path from the result they have and consider their passion as a way to achieve their goal.

I honestly felt that i have have already been given a lot of opportunity as a youth . Just to speak for other people out there , being a teenager is actually not very difficult unless if you are talking about academic wise . it is hard to show ones potential through studies only

Life is difficult in Singapore as there are many things we can't do. Things has changed in their politics and people around us. The things that has stayed the same are actually the confidence in each and everyone of us. Positive people. Negative people. Not really that happy with the way life has turned out because the things we wants to do are always at the boarder line. No matter what if we are from lower education we should be treated equally the same as the higher education students as attitude is actually more important when you are in the work place.

Education is important but not crazy suffocating like now

Innovation and creativity in school instead of rote learning.

I loved hearing about the additions to secondary school. Focus on music classes, coding classes. I'm happy that these opportunities were given to the next generation to explore things that they may grow passionate about. I hope more of this comes about. I believe strongly in following my dreams, but Singapore isn't the best place to do so right now.

What I hope is that I can contribute in some way to the environment around us, in the way we can influence hope, and the existence of the possibility of success. Make it an atmosphere where more people believe things are possible. I'm glad most of all that the kids after us get these opportunities to explore though. Perhaps in the near future, every grade has equal weightage. L1R5s won't be just a focus on general studies, but inclusive of results in arts and music, or other skills. If we can change the impression of their weight from young, the future will move.

Life currently as a student is pretty hectic because we are caught up with striving for both academic and non-academic excellence

2. More funding for further Master education

Mentors around for anyone that needs guiding to build on their ideas and expand what we can already do now.

i hope to see changes in the education sector to be more holistic and success that is not determined by only academic achievement. i hope that success will be defined broader and those who choose less conventional paths are not deemed as failures.

I would like to see diversification in the things we value as a society. Whilst we constantly strive for economic growth, what is put at risk is a sense of belonging - not only in a physical sense of having a roof over our heads, or neatly carved out definitions of what we can grow to become. I ran a jewelry brand for a year before my uni degree and during this time I conduct sharing sessions with youths in their twenties, mostly female. The topic was often about anxiety and a recurring theme was about the anxiety of pursuing the less common routes that did not fall under lawyer, banker and etc. These participants all felt at loss when it came to what they wanted to do vs what they were told they could pursue as a career. Often they go through the entire education route only to feel like they've gone through the motions without an outcome they could relate to. What you have is then a generation that is experiencing 'quarter life crisis' because they've only been shown options of being the neatly drawn vocations and nothing in between or beyond. Measures that could possibly counter this might not necessarily work through government policies but we can definitely strive to put emphasis on things beyond economic growth by not trying to cash in whenever an idea or culture emerges. (Eg Trying to get Hawker Culture on the Unesco list ) The national narrative of being Number 1 is not helpful in cultivating a diverse nation — number 1 means that something have fell short; not everything can be measured on such scales. Some things require more space and flexibility to grow, and sometimes care means providing the conditions to grow, and not drawing up straight paths for its progress. Written on my phone, these ideas may seem disparate but my hopes for singapore is for opportunities to individuals to grow and cultures to develop, as well as wider vocabulary of what we can value but on a individual and a national level.

If you are good at business English should not dictate whether you can get into a business course.

Diverse paths to success (not just academic grades).

Economic metrics are not the only metrics that we use to measure the progress of our nation — whilst Singaporeans quite naturally have a tendency towards metric minded thinking, we can take advantage of that and find ways to engage and empower our local communities. Children don't have to work to provide for their families, no homeless or beggars, and the elderly no longer have to sell tissues on the streets, clean tables or pick up cardboard. People pursue creative visions and have the courage and security to be entrepreneurial and innovate and perfect the interests they feel most passionate about.

1.Wider range of education choices & pathways for youngsters who are less academically inclined. 2.Provide & increase subsidy for public social services. 3.Better public transport system & effective road connectors.

More lenient in giving us a chance to do what we want in life

able to do what I want and be supported for it

Not just focused on academic success , and ppl generally to support mediocre ppl

Singaporeans are less status-focused and have a less narrow definition of what success is.

Lastly I also feel that more Singaporean's would be have confidence to do what they like, their passions without the fear of being looked down or belittled

leading to more paper chase (so as to chase better paying jobs) and a grimmer idea of what success actually looks like to many of us.

There are more ways of achieving success. Young people will be better off.

People live within their means and not pressured to conform to society or society's version of success. Academic success is not the be all and end all.

The Singaporean culture will remain fixated on tangible achievements while sacrificing the importance of life skills and empathy. It doesn't seem like much will change.

I want Singapore and Singaporeans to be less kiasu and less anxious and more willing to take risks and to push through beyond (perceived) failures.

Open-minded to different types of success

Recognise efforts, not just results!

Somewhere that it’s society is not focused on just grades

Embrace change and individuality.

more inclusive and more accepting of how everyone has different pace in their education and how everyone has their right to pursue their dreams (be it in the arts, science or business field)

Singapore is a good place to study in. The education is one of the best out of the world. But still, there are competitions running between the students…things have really changed from the past years to now. The economy have changed a lot and has improved. I'm happy with the life here. But there are still 'Hidden racism and competition' still going on…

put more focus on holistic development and co-curricular activities

Continue our push to de-emphasise academic results and focus on creativity and character.

Singapore will be a caring and happy country to stay in and life is full of respecting, understanding and forgivness. From a eco green country to a real eco green country.Everyone will benefit from everything and would not be jugde

- in terms of the envi I heard talk of not trying to achieve 0 emissions within our countries, which may be challenging considering Singapore's small size but rather as one ASEAN. for instance, buying hydropower from Laos so we have a greater percentage of renewable energy. 2. Environment. I am thankful for the opportunity to have my thoughts on the future aired - but if climate scientists are to be believed, there is no future by 2035. if current emissions rate are maintained the earth will warm 3 deg by 2030, which is way way too soon, way way too far above our safe zone of 1.5deg. // In such a situation where the outcome is uncertain, I think it make sense to just not take the risk. even if climate change proves to be a farce in the end, that is still better than it is real // I think that the environment thus has to be made a part of decision making - there is a statistic out there that says something like most things are as much as 2/3 underpriced because we have not accounted for sustainability & human rights costs // how to do this? on a micro level, there needs to be more popular support. many people my age are concerned about it, and we need to continue spreading word amongst people our age. we need to teach people younger than us, who sometimes operate on "autopilot" and so don't know any better. as for people older than us - they need to understand that this is a emergency, as what Greta Thunberg calls it - and that they WILL suffer effects in their lifetime, so they might as well join us. // On a macro level, I hope a tasskforce will be set up to deal with the multitude of stakeholders involved - for instance Jurong Island contributes to most of our emissions but this is tricky, since money earned from there powers our economy & contributes to our defense Budget. Second, I hope that the media & politicians will use accurate language that reflects the urgency of the situation. The Guardian has already changed from "climate change" to "climate emergency / breakdown". Third, I hope that systems can be changed to enable us to vote with our wallet - for us to know that something is more eco-friendly, for it to be priced so that everyone can afford it regardless of class, for such businesses to receive subsidies in the mean time. Thank you for listening. I truly hope the feedback will be incorporated - it would mean the world, literally.

Also, hoping more environmental friendly activities.

although firms producing plastics may suffer from the change in taste and preference for the use of plastic for the greater good of saving the earth,

I would also hope to see that people are taking more initiative in saving the environment(not sure whether will Singapore be able carry out waste classification for recycling or are there any other practical concerns towards this)

Finally I also wish that we have a greener environment with more rooftop gardens or plants which scale walls although we are driven towards building a better connected city.

Food wastage brought to a minimum with usage of reusable utensils as a norm.

Free from climate change

Free of plastics

Free plastic waste and start saving the animals in the sea by helpingto stop using plastic straw and plastic bag

Green and innovative

Greener or Plastic free!!!

Hopefully by then there is more action taken to address environment issues. This doesn't have sufficient attention yet

I also learnt that to sustain Singapore's environment, we have to always take initiative and be more aware of what is happening around us.

I also want to see Singapore promoting sustainable practices and creating environmently friendly infrastructure.

i hope that singapore will become a environmental friendly country so that we can help mother nature

I imagine Singapore to be a green city. Not just in terms of having trees planted everywhere but rather to have more environmentally friendly solutions. The weather would be great and not hotter.

I think climate change has posed serious challenges to us then.

I want a Singapore that cares for it's people and the environment, one that stays accountable to its actions and can make the right choice in difficult situations.

I want Singapore to be cleaner and enviroment friendly towards the planet and reduce waste

I want Singapore to change on the waste that we contribute to the world. We can start by having a open idea session where we find ideas on how we can reduce number of waste especially plastics waste.

I would feel that Sg would become a sustainable society as people are getting aware of the global warming situation, and sg is also talking initiatives such as not issuing straws to minimise plastic wastage, I feel that such initiatives would be effective and should have more.

I would like Singapore to be a more eco friendly society where people are encouraged and are willing to change their old habits of using plastic and instead be a disciplined person who uses their own bags or reuse their plastic bags.

In 2025, sustainability would be greatly implemented and encouraged in many industries, even the health industry whereby sustainability is compromised due to prioritizing human welfare.

Inclusive, tolerant, adaptive, sustainable

Less car pollution and stop Global warming

Less cars so that less pollution.

Less plastics usage and more kindess among the people, less hurtful words.

Less traffic congestion, supermarkets with less plastic being sold with their produce,

Life is so amazing the environment is great and everybody care about the environment everyone does their part people uses reusable recyclable materials and avoids usage of all sorts of biodegradable materials such a plastic

Life will be hotter because climate change will have impacted us all but hopefully Singapore has managed to adopt new solutions that alleviate some of the issues like alternative energy and compulsory recycling.

more aware of climate change and it’s detrimental effects. I hope more Singaporeans will be conscious of their actions, cut down their energy wastage and reduce waste production.

More caring towards the environment, more people recycling, reusing and reducing. We must practice them now before it is too late

More chaotic, climate change will be much more dire than it is now.

Most importantly, carbon emissions have peaked and Singapore is on a healthy pathway to manageable climate changes and is contributing to global efforts to mitigate the climate crisis worldwide. The heat is bearable without aircon. We are primarily running on renewable technology and have taken steps to cut ties with the fossil fuel industry. This would be an ideal society.

my vision for singapore in 2025 is one that is environmentally conscious. that means everywhere i go i am able to order food that will be filled up in my own personal tupperware or plates,, plastic is virtually impossible to obtain and markets have plastic free packaging and consumers bring their own containers and tupperware to fill up groceries with such as flour, sugar and salt. public transport is the main form of transportation and private vehicles are sparse.

not flooded cos of global warming uwu

Not use a lot of plastic

of help to global warming

one that is working towards environmental sustainability.

Our food and water supplies are being threatened by climate change which has started to destabilise our region.

People would be more inclined to self-aware with the environment. They know that it is necessary to stop using single use plastics, to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as they can. Despite the growing need for this, there will still be naysayers who still decline the thought of saving the earth, but at least there's movement forward in the act of change, where people are more open to the idea of it. Those who are 'left behind' would be worse off, whereas those who can see the purpose of it, would be happier with the movement and how life has turned out to be like

Promote MRT and buses more.

everyone to play a part in cutting down of usage of plastics

I feel that there needs to be a little more tree's

We can start buying things that can be reuse for everywhere including input home too and use less plastics bags or anything that is related to using plastic. We also can reuse, reduce, recycle!!

not to always litter ard and be considerate for the environment.

Safe and clean. Always in our hearts ❤️

Use the 4 Rs(reduce, reuse, recycle, recover)

Stop throwing rubbish and stop using plastic bags

Go vegan our own selves and start doing every little thing we can do from our part to reuse recycle and reduce.

he climate crisis has been averted and people know the importance of being responsible in their habits and consumption. Food systems and food security is much more secure, people make informed choices about food and local farms in various forms are abundant. Every bit of land in Singapore is meaningfully planned and there are enough spaces for everyone to mingle and interact.

I want a Singapore where Food Security is a diminished, if not non-existent concern. With the effects of global warming bearing down on us, and our relatively minor influence on the world at large, we must look at how we can secure our future in the event that the worst comes to pass. Without food, Singapore will starve. This issue is paramount, we must address it before it's too late.

I would like Singapore to be a greener city. To make use of technology advancements, policies, regulations, that all help to sustain the environment. At this point in time, we are already facing the issues of climate change, all we can do is to slowly prevent it from getting worse. Other countries can do it and i think our government is being very lax on this. So this is a more important change i would like to see in 2025

Life in 2025 is better than now. I hope that we have progressed towards being a more sustainable society and to be a leading country in sustainable development.

on the cutting edge of green technology

Singapore is finally moving towards to becoming more green and more sustainable.
