Support for Vulnerable Groups

The Adulting Community

Problem Statement

Top life challenges faced by Singaporean youths revolve around adulting (the ability to bounce forward from life challenges). To navigate adulthood better, youth need to be financially literate and have the interpersonal skills for work and romantic relationships. How can we better support youths at adulting?

Project Description

The Adulting Community empowers and equips youths to bounce forward from life’s challenges together. Unlike other existing programmes, we provide: (1) life skill courses created and taught by and for peers, (2) a community with post-programme support, (3) sustainability via the school’s CCA structure and (4) holistic and structured development, with room for expansion to include domains such as Mental and Physical Health/Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Community Service.

If our pilot is successful, we can scale new communities in other schools, Social Service Agencies and grassroot organisations (including adults out of school) to help everyone in Singapore excel at adulting.
