How can we improve the recognition of seniors as valuable members of the workforce?
SG50Over50 aims to improve the awareness and recognition of progressive employers and age-inclusive work-life practices that value senior employees.
The team aims to create an online portal to feature 50 seniors/employers recognised for their services in the 3P sectors and document stories about youths, seniors and their employers doing good together. This project will be a collaboration between youth and senior volunteers.

In response to "Do you think there is a need for such digital volunteering to promote intergenerational bonding? Why?"
I do agree that intergenerational bonding is important, as ageism is a prevalent issue in the workplace. However, in my opinion, i think there are other ways to promote intergenerational bonding other than digital volunteering, as this would be quite limited in the scope of implementation (i dont see much scenarios where digital volnteering directly plays a part to promote intergenerational bonding).

In response to "Do you think there is a need for such digital volunteering to promote intergenerational bonding? Why?"
Absolutely. In this current 21st century, with technological advancements all around us, it is extremely vital to not leave our seniors behind as well. While we impart our digital knowledge and skillset to them, I am certain that many of them will be more than willing to impart other lifelong values to us, in their decades of life experience.

In response to "How Can We Improve?"
An inclusive society brings less problems as all generations can keep in touch and can still find meaningful life as they gain new knowledge to work and train for the future. E.g learn a new skill like hair cutting.
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
Come up with a concrete plan and idea on how this would be implemented, and try to find a way to do so organically. Also, why focus on digital volunteering to solve this issue? There are other more effective ways to tackle this soceital problem, such as a mentorship program? something more practical and intimate.
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
Firstly, I feel that this is a very meaningful project and it is heartening to know that there are young people in our Singapore society who have a heart for the elderly. However, I believe that this is still a small percentage of the youths in our society. Personally, I feel that we can embark on this plan by firstly reaching out to youths, and finding interesting ways to bring across the message in hopes that many other youths too will be convinced that this is a concerning problem in society that we can make a difference to. All the best!

First of all , this a very new and thoughtful initiative! You guys can explore ideas on incentivising the companies you will be working with. It doesn’t have to be monetary. But they should also be reaping some benefits from this initiative. Also you can also build your credentials before approaching big companies. In that way, it will be easier to partner with them as well.

Though RSVP Singapore may be the social service agency known for senior volunteers, various social service agencies also have their own pool of senior volunteers. So, just speak with the seniors you intend to engage to find out if they are already volunteering somewhere. Jiayou guys.

standardise the communication channel, make sure all chat is on the app, make sure its single language so all can be engaged and be on the same page. make sure no fraud is made by volunteering and not appearing by tracking/cross tracking attendence
