Forgetting to consume medication has huge repercussions, especially for seniors with chronic diseases who tend to require a regular cocktail of pills.
How can we come up with a fail-safe way to ensure seniors take their medication on time?

FamiliarVoice aims to support people who have illnesses that require regular consumption of multiple medications, especially seniors or people living with dementia.
Through a familiar voice reminder that can be easily customised in the recipient’s choice of language/dialects and frequency, FamiliarVoice aims to improve compliance when it comes to medication consumption and will also update caregivers if recipients have consumed their medication.

a lot of competitors in the market. please research on them and understand why the technology has yet to take off despite being spoken about for years

This is good especially the reminder to the caregiver, it should be he inverse though reminding when the elderly has forgotten the medicine but for really serious elderly I doubt this would be effective. maybe the milder cases that\'s why a max once a day is easier but drugs are rarely like that . and urm just a random thought how many of us lose the idea of an alarm over time?
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
This is a novel idea. What does the team envision as the value add of this proposal beyond setting regular alarms on a smartphone and changing the alarm tone to a recorded voice saying \"take your medication\" in the preferred language or dialect?
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
as dementia patients have the tendency to forget, would it be possible that they might not recognise the voice despite it being their loved ones
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
You guys could look at the possibility of incorporating this feature into already existing medicine reminder boxes. So you can maybe partner with companies that sell these boxes and maybe create and app that promotes both the box and your app with your features. This way the company will reap something fro you guys and you will gain more attention as well. It might be good for your marketing.

I am not sure how the voice would be played but what I visualise from the description is a physical product such as a speaker to play the voice. If this is so, I think important considerations are portability (when the patient goes out) and the possibility that the product itself may be misplaced. An additional consideration might be the profile of the patient. People who have chronic diseases may have jobs and this would affect the implementation of the solution. Some might be uncomfortable to let others know about their medical conditions.

since this is targetted at ppl w dementia, they may forget how the familiar voice sounds and this can actually backfire since they are less likely to comply w a voice that they do not recognise at that moment/voice from a phone. wld b gd to target this at caregivers to give them regular reminders to give medications since they will be physically present and is usually someone that they will remember and r comfy w. the idea can also include an option for caregivers to off the reminder for when they choose to give the medication themselves so the family member won’t end up taking it again.
In response to "How Can We Improve?"
I like the idea of having a familiar voice, having a real time sync on both the patient and caregiver side will be crucial to ensure the caregiver is able to closely monitor whether the patient has taken her/his meds in real time.

-nil- I like the idea, maybe it could be a device that is wearable.

Daily reminders can be monotonous and you tend to disregard them after a while. Perhaps building in gamification or something fun like, a riddle or a joke at each reminder?
